Fairy Guardian -The Dream Ch3

The sun was beating down upon my skin, and it felt so good. I could drown in this feeling of the sun nourishing you and making you feel peace. The sound of the beach waves coming in relaxed my body entirely. Cool sand was penetrating the back of my body.

"Ahhhh..this is the life."

"Carson, it's time to wake up my girl." Squeezing my eyes shut. Can't people just leave you alone when you are on beach. Privacy Required. Putting on my fake smile but wait She knew my name. Eyes opening to a woman in a snowy white dress, short raven black hair, and deep coco skin. "Excuse me. How do you know my name?" I got up and then it all came back, the drowning, waking up to some weird voices in my room and then this...what in the every-loving is going on.

I stood up too fast and felt a rush come in my head and dizziness took over. She grabbed my arm and the contact felt like touching an electric outlet with a pin. "Ouch." Moving away from her outstretched arms, took a couple of very deep breaths, feeling the sand under my feet to ground me. Thank God for so many yoga classes. "Sorry, I have not made contact with human in a very long time. I forget how truly fragile you are." She moved away up the beach to what looked like an outdoor seating chair with deep red and purple rug.

Looking up and down the beach, there was nowhere to go, and so I follow her very slowly. We sat down and then I get a better look at her. You know when you say to someone, your glowing. Except she was actually glowing, almost a lightbulb in a dark cave. Except this was broad daylight. "How do you know my name? Where am I? Am I dead? Saying this and feeling down because in a small part of my heart I hope the last question is Yes.

"No Carson, you are not dead. But you did die." Confusion was apparent on my face, I get ready to ask more questions, but she puts her small hand up. "I know you have lots of questions, but we do not have time before you are sent back to earth and get ready for your new life."  She places her body directly at me, almost like a coach that needs your full attention. I look into her eyes, but they have no color only depth.  Like looking at a deep pool of water, without seeing the bottom. Her eyes are memorizing and it's hard to keep track of her words, "You are going to have to save Earth." She smiles at me and now I am kicking myself for not paying any attention.

"Excuse me. You have the wrong girl. I am only 25, barely graduated college, my living space is behind a house that is a total of 500 ft, and my car is most likely not making it another 100 miles. My friend total 0." I hardly noticed the tears falling down my face until it escaped my chin and fell on my chest. "I am no one." Bent my head because what else are you going to do. I went to Rock Lake to just went to get cooled off not land in a Save-The-Earth dream.

She takes my chin, this time no spark, just the warmest touch. Sun kiss and the smell of lemons freshly peel. Clean. Whole. Warm. A mother's touch. "Carson, your life led you to the task ahead of you. Without your past, you could never do what I am about to ask. I need you to be a bridge between your realm and the realm of the Fairy Folk."  Raising from her seat and walking closer to the beaches edge, were the waves coming in touching her tiny feet. Rising myself and standing beside her. Next to this tiny woman, for me, felt like a Madonna next to the frog but at the same time I was being enveloped in almost a hug of pure power. Who was she? How does she know me? I do not trust very easily but with her it was almost too easy.

"I would have spared you all the pain your life has given you. But then the Earth's fairy folk could never adjust to what is going to happen on Earth to them. We don't have much longer before you go back. I am pulling this memory from you for now because what happens next cannot be interfered with or is the end of all things."

Taking my hands in hers and looking me into the depths of my soul. If that was possible, I can only describe what this moment felt like. "Carson, you will find the depth of courage, the will to endure, the faith to see it through, and the grit it needs to finish what needs to be done. You will not remember this, but I want to give you a gift." A hot flash came on my right pinkie finger then a tiny rose appeared.

Touching the now new tattoo gently with her pointer finger. "You will not remember this moment with me or where you got my rose from, but if you touch it, you will know you have value, worth, you are beloved. You are vital to fate itself. I believe in you."

The beach and her started to dissolve like seeing a mirage. Closing my eyes, feeling the loss of her, and going under once more. Until I felt the back of a mattress beneath me.

'Wake up you human sad girl!" Whiny voice was back, and this time, I had no problem getting up and telling him to shove it. "What!!!" I said it in a rather snarky tone. The half fish man cringed with my flash of anger.  He looked like I slapped him. Felt bad for a split second but really looked at him, half-fish people are not real. My yelling got some attention from the next room, and the white-haired lady came in the room, and whiny said, "Do you see Master she is glowing?" The lady turned to me, and it must have faded, whatever the fish man was seeing, "Basil, this is not one of your fairy tales. Give me space with my new Guardian."

Sitting next to me on the bed, "So Carson, you ready to become the most valuable player on my team?"
