Fairy Guardian - Exam Ch9

Crown Prince made his presence known, he came down the hallway like a general and gave orders to other fairies that showed up out of nowhere. "Get this body down to the laboratory at the private royal hospital," Two very scary fairies, had features of primitive beasts with male bodies. Their clothes looked military in appearance with knives on their belts. Maybe they part of the beast faction of Fairy? I just stood there at looking them and then down at what would have been another being, now charred, smelling like burnt grass and something else I do not want to identify. One of the beasts took a substance out of his backpack and let a couple drops land on the body. The goo slid over the body until it wrapped in a bubble. Both males then lifted body briskly off the floor and started moving towards the back of the house. Yeah, definitely that miliary procession walk. I had a boyfriend once that was a cop and was in the military. He was always walking with purpose. Does the Fairy have military/police? Ot are they royal security?  Seemed a wrong time to ask too many dumb questions. The floor now had a black residue laid over the white and gray tile. 

"You," he was looking at both Anna and me.  "What are you doing up still?" Looking over to Anna, her fists were clenched, red splotches came back, "Hallious, I do not take orders from you. Not until your King at least. This is my house and right now you are not a guest or even a wanted visitor." He takes my arm firmly and brings me into the twin's workshop. "I was not talking to you sister. She is human and she needs to sleep or will be no good to you or any of us." Anna was about to remark, "that is not her room." but he closed the door on her face with a snap and startled Ember. Ember dropped whatever she was working on, glass fell to the floor and busted apart. 

Without turning around, "Lily, if you insist on slamming the door at least let me know when it's coming." Proceeded to pick up the glass with some wind that came out of limbo and could hear a vacuum click on under the desk. Glass went into the wall, then she went back to work. "I am not Lily,' said with kingly flare. She stiffened up and then relaxing her shoulders, kind of a submissive profile as Ember turned without looking up, "I am so sorry your majesty. My work. It was. Sorry,' stuttering the words out in a very apologetic manner. 

"It's fine Ember. I want you to do Car's bloodwork, exam, and run the tests we talked about earlier. Oh, and do Anna's stuff too but send to me directly all results."  Now his full attention was on me, did my heart flutter a little. Yes. No, Ok YES. "Since you seem to work on no sleep, we need to get going on why you, a human, just happened to pop in my realm. Let's review, shall we." his fingers make a emphasis of the point, "the last, what four days; you have almost drowned, had a lethal bug almost incinerated your organs, and now we have the shadow creatures making house calls." He looked annoyed and apparently blaming everything on me. "If you remember correctly, your sister brought me here? Ask her.?" Putting on a fearless face but my voice had a smaller mouse sound. 

"Duly Noted. Now I am planting myself right here until Ember finishes working on you. If my realm is at risk from, you the human, then you will get sent back to wherever you came from or I will have to take care of the problem in a more permanent capacity." Hallious was saying in a bold manner, but his body was telling me something else. But the something else was not my concern. "Are you seriously threatening me? I did nothing. Nothing to anyone. Nor do am I a part of the magical power club. What possible risk could I have for being here other than Anna's guardian?"  Saying those words with much more valiant phrasing. "Which I want to point out, no one had explained to me what being a guardian actually is. Put that on the record." Placing my arms over my chest making my boobs almost flop out of my sundress. 

Quickly putting my arms back to my sides and looking back at him for confirmation he got what I was saying. His eyes were very directly staring...not my face. "Prince not charming. I am serious. I am just a nobody human stuck here." Almost coming back to attention and making a face of disgust, directed at looking at me or himself. Again, not caring. Ok a little. But not thinking about it. Ok a little. Damn it. Focus Carson, your life is on the line. 

"Carson, please sit here. If I am going to finish, we need to start," Ember matter of fact tone brought me back to present. "Yes, of course. Sorry to keep you waiting. His jerkiness is not being polite."  Plopped myself down on what looked to be the doctor table. Ember now was looking at me as if I really wanted to die painfully because I just spoke to the King with anything less than submissiveness. "What? I did nothing and now I am the one to blame. Blah." Put my right arm out to give blood, looked at me then my arm, then proceeded to take a white instrument from the table. It looked like a gaming controller. 

Pressing the controller to my belly area, it does like a laser scan. Then a probe comes out the side of it, as she keeps pressing different button with a pattern to it. I have tried to get how to play a gaming system, but all I can really play is the one where two fighters duel it out. That one game you just keep presses buttons and hope you win. It was like watching a advanced players moving with precise movements. Except this one had tools that came out of it. 

As she proceeded to move about to different parts of me and taking some kind of notes that made her back computer turn on a dictate. Growing a little bored, most doctor's office wants to stick you and press on you to find everything wrong with you, this seem to be a walk in the park. "Ok I need you to turn over." Flopped on my stomach, which made me look directly at my tormentor.

"I don't want to take actions against you. I know your innocent, Car but you might be part of a much bigger problem." Liking this much softer side better, "Why do you call me Car?" Turning to me and moving his face just inches from mine, "Because it helps me remember you're not just a piece to move on the board. You call me Hall? But if you need a nickname for me, then Hal, its sounds much better than part of a house." Smiling back at him, "Fine Hal it is, because I need to remember that you might be a King someday, right now your just an annoying Fey male that needs to learn manners." 

Ember quickly moving back to her computer and wanting nothing to do with our conversation. Hal, in a whisper to me, "the only reason I allow. Yes, I allow you to speak to me like you're doing is because Ember and her sister work for me. And I have much more patience with ignorance." Giving me his devil may care smile back at me, his dimple coming onto his face feels like warm butter on toast. Yummy. Focus. Not attracted in the least. Lies. It's hard, I was plain brown tall dirt pop and come here to become not just passable in looks...But HOT. This not-naming tension is building between us. Pulling my body up to a small yoga cembra position, "Wait, does everyone work for you Do you spy on all your relatives? Are putting her family on the threat list too?" Snarky and a silky panting breath. My sound even is giving waves a heat. Fire in the hole. 

"Actually, my ill-informed human, her village disappeared when her and Lily were ten, and I am helping them find answers. No family to threaten." Now feeling my stomach drop. I forgot in my cleverness. Anna told me her family was murdered. Car, you screwed up royally.  Flipping over and looking at Ember's back, "I am so sorry Ember. Anna said they were murdered. I. I was so caught up in my stuff. I want to apologize for not saying anything earlier for your loss. And that very rude comment." Now feeling restless, bounded off the table and pacing, "I know my brother is looking for me, and not knowing where I am." Stopped pacing to stand next to her, "Ember. Not knowing what happened leaves you with no closure." Hit Home. Deeply feeling for my brother, feeling something other than hate, bitterness and anger. I needed to get word to Jeremy somehow and he can get word to dear old ma and pa. 

"No. Its Ok. Really. Every once in while the grief comes on and it takes over. I became a scientist to see if I could help with the investigation. When his Majesty sends new information, he sends it my way. For his help, we just keep tabs on his sister. Actually, you're the only thing we have reported to him. His sister only sticks to 'positive' situation." Holding up both pointer and middle fingers on both hands like rabbit years to emphasize positive. "Anna says are parents are dead. But I would know in my heart if that was true. My sister and I will never stop looking until they are found dead... or alive."

Patting her back and one more squeeze. Gently turning her chin up, "Please let me know if at any point can help." She nods and gets back to work. Something buzzes on her computer. "Ahh some of the tests are in." Anna and Michael then walk in. God, I hope they cannot hear anything. I should feel bad that her brother is spying on her, but I do get wanting to keep his realm safe and help the twins. 

"Did I hear tests?" Anna spoke in a more annoyed voice than ever. Mr. Always Grumpy pants behind her. "Actually, the tests are for the body that was just sent to the hospital morgue. She did not have time to work on Carson yet." Dismissing both his siblings, turns to his dear scientist, "Ember, I am sending you and everything here to my private lab." With another hand movement, her entire lab was gone and her with it. Only the plants on the other side of the room remained. Powerful Magical Club President and CEO. 

Trying to not give away that Hal out right lied to his family; I put on my fakest smile. Both of them looked at me; to confirm or deny but instead I did the only thing I could think about. "Sorry about this but I have to pee and get to bed. I am exhausted." My body was really tired and right when I said it, a natural yawn was produced. Thank YOU body. 

Making my way across the tile floor to my room, and heard Anna say to the future King, "Than why brother of my heart did you take her in here and shut me out?"  Before hearing anymore, I shoved my door open and slowly shut it and leaned against it. The doors coolness helped me calm my breathing. How was I going to keep his secrets, my job, and the only home I currently have?
