Fairy Guardian - Awakening Ch2

 "She is waking up." A whiny voice said somewhere over me, the voice sounded like nails on a chalkboard. My body was there but I felt myself floating above it, almost detached which had a feeling of a balloon on a string. One small gust of wind and I would simply float away. Then in the next breath I was back to nothingness.

"Wake up Sunshine, it's time to become part of the living again." This voice was like honey with its warm tones and smooth rhythm. I was a moth to this flame. "I need you to wake up and see a new day. I will be waiting for you." There was a feeling on my neck, then a cinnamon and smoke smell, next wet lips touched behind my ear and finally the sound of a drop of water. I could hear the creek of a chair next to me move closer; a hand was placed on the bottom of my rib cage. 

Suddenly a fiery hot flame went through me. I screamed out loud, but no sound came from my mouth. My focus was a snake of fire crawling its way through my body. It this hell, burning my soul from the inside out.  I could not tell you if it was minutes or hours, but it felt like eternity. Was I alive? My eyes opened briefly but there was a haze, as if you're looking through a window that was very dirty. My body drifted back to the bed; the balloon finally fell back to the earth. The void was sucking me back in and I could do nothing but give in but not before I heard, "Anna, I did all I could do. It's up to her to live." 

The next voice was kind, gentle, and very insistent with her telling me over and over again, "I will literally kill you myself if you do not wake up you silly human."  Whiny voice had to say next, "Do you know Anna, I have been monitoring her phone. Not one person has reached out to her. It's been a week since she has been in this condition. Sad really. Maybe she just has nothing to come back to."  A heard a loud bang and then a grunt. "Basil, if you are not going to be helpful then please leave." 

"Sorry Master. It's just I am trying to tell you. Maybe telling her that you want her might help her want to live."  Shuffling of feet making its way to bed and soft glow of light was seen behind my eye lids. "I am sorry to Basil. I just know. Know. She is the one I have been waiting for and if I lose her." Heavy sigh and then soft touch on my forehead brought my eye lids open to the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Her soft white long hair with perfect light curls, blue eyes that looked like the ocean, skin that any woman would want to have, and a warm smile that brought you in and made you feel safe.

I tried to speak but nothing came out. Heart started to panic. Her hand fell to my hair. "You have to wait until your body is fully healed before you can speak. My name is Anna and I rescued you from the lake." My memories were twisted and blank. My confusion must have showed on my face because she whispered to me, "Fall asleep this last time and when you wake all your questions will be answered." For the first time in my life, I felt safe, so I did and fell to asleep, but it was not nothingness but something else.
