Fairy Guardian - Annin Fairy Marriage Ch15

"Excuse me?" In a shrill voice that came out more of a squeak than intended. Clearing my throat, "Regina, I am not marrying now or ever?"  Then feeling more confident, straightening my shoulders, sitting up like a ruler on my spine, and unclenching my hands. Looking down to smooth out my invisible dust bunnies.

"Care bear, now I do not want to be rude," putting her hand to her chest. Regina went on, "The fate of the entire fairy realm is you becoming a full fledge guardian and that means you have to get married." Seating down at the table like her work was done and she did not just upset the entire room. The king was passing and could see calculation in his eyes. Anna looked like tears were in the works. Talia looked bored. Vian kept eyeing me with smothering glances, that frankly was bringing some heat. Not. Going. To Lie. Mike was looking down at the table deep in thought and Hal was looking straight at me with close to hatred? Maybe disappointment or worse loathing?

"Alfred, be a dear, to summon some food and drinks?" Ok. Queen. Where was regular lady from the grocery store? My angel? My everything? Now she is what a mother? A mother that left me with horrid heathen. Tormentor. Turning away from marriage talk. Straight up anger filled my soul. Feeling my horrible childhood I endured, "Regina, if you were my mother, why did you give me to the worst mother ever? And why pray tell did you wait until I was 18 to rescue me?" Chest was trying to take breaths in. Did not care what anyone else thought. I needed answers. Now.

Sadness came over her frame like a wave of sack of potatoes on her shoulders, "The Goddess placed you with HER. Goddess and I shared some words. Your mother was a straight up bitch. If I could have turned her into a very ugly toad I would have done it in a heartbeat." Angish came over her. Pleading for me to understand.

Looking directly at me, "She finally told me where you were, but I had to wait until you turned an adult. Nothing could stop me coming to you. but I could not take you here only watch over you," tears now coming down her creamy beautiful skin. "I could not make up for the damage that she." pulling her eyes shut with pent of furry. Regina carried on, "caused you, but I could be there for you."

Placing her head down and hands closed in a prayer position, "With magic its tricky. There is always a balance. A Fairy cannot live for long in the human world because there is no magic there.  Without a fairy recharging with their innate method, they would die." Thinking back to the talk with Anna about magic being a battery, only recharging back on the stand.

"A human cannot live here very long because magic is not within them, the magic here would overwhelm their systems and death would follow," stating it slowly for me to take in every word. Next part is the cliff hanger. "I faked my death because my method to recharge lies here. I was the Queen of all magic, and therefore able to live in the human world longer but even I have my limits. I hope you can forgive me Care Bear. It was never my attention to cause you any harm."

Jumping off that stupid chair, feeling my heart reach out to here, I rushed to her side. Grabbed her tight, "I love you with all my heart. And I understand why you could not tell me." Laughing and crying, "To be frank, you would have been in the mental ward instead of me." Thinking of the time of my crash and incarceration. "But it will take some time to come to grips with all that you told me," giving her one more squeeze, then standing and looking at the group staring at me like I just became a unicorn overnight, "And I am not getting married. Just so all of you know." Probably are unicorns. Smirking to myself. It's really not funny what is happening in my life in less than a week, but I am here. Umph.

Dragging herself up and Regina holds my face, "The Shadow King is taking over this land with all of his children and you, my dear, are the only one that can stop him. You will be the one to balance the light with the dark. In order to do that, a tie must be made with a Fairy of this realm and you." Letting her words sink in, stomach was falling, wanting to retreat back to the Rock Lake. "I will tell you." dramatic pause with a smile, "that not only do you have to marry but it has to be a Annin Fairy marriage. True Love match." Oh great. Marry and love. Yeah. Easy. Book it. NOT.

Slipping from her grasp and taking the vacant seat at the boardroom table. Not daring to look at the table again. Thinking of everything I have seen since I got here, the goddess, the wars, the nightmare, Nucca, the fairies, and the people in this room. All will die if I don't help them. Rubbing the little rose again.

"She will marry one of the princes. End of story. All is settled." King proclaimed it loud the whole fairy realm could hear him. Like a decree passed already. No one is making me do anything. Body freezes and ready to pounce on Mr. Douche Ruler.  Before words left my mouth, servants were coming in with foods and drinks. Watching them two creatures place appetizers on the table and someone placing a glass in front of each Royal.

The gargoyle servant dude was setting my glass down and took a black blade out of his violet uniform pocket. He reached up with his gray scaly hand, to bring it down the shiny black blade on my back. My mouth was moving but no sound came out. I could not move quickly enough to stop him. An indigo fire comes out from Regina, and the creature is thrown to the wall.

Chaos erupts in the room. The King was going for the kill shot but blue bubble encased the man. "Father, we need him alive to find the culprit." Hal jumps up and slams the male again in the wall, "Who do you work for? How did you get in here?" before he could ask more questions the assassin speaks. "Long Live the True King." Pushes down his teeth. Same scene that plays out thriller movies with some kind of pill that kills instantly. His body goes limp in Hal's hands.

Before the King could even speak, Hal moves into general and commander, "Vian take the Queen and secure her. Talia take father and make sure he stays put. Anna, I need you to get me Ember right away to take the body down to the morgue for processing. Mike, I need you to lock this building down. No one leaves unless cleared." Everyone moved quickly until the room was cleared. Heart was coming out of my chest. How many times can you almost die?

"Carson, you're coming with me?" Without giving me a choice, we portal quickly back to his Treehouse.
