Fairy Guardian - Carson Ch27

Landing back in the boardroom, seemed like weeks instead of days. Looking around everything was different from the first time I was here. Gone were the throne chairs. All the walls apparently changed to windows. It was refreshing to see the beautiful landscape of the fairy lands. How? What happened? And then looked over to Hal talking to Michael. Shivers started making it up my spine. He was powerful before and now. Wow. Secret pleasure was creeping into my limbs. All mine. Yum.

Poor Michael. Being duped by someone you thought you could trust. Him being there saved my life. At what cost?  I do not want anyone dying because of me. Finally having the courage to look at the rest of the people in the room, power radiated from all of them. Had a sense of ancient beings. One in green robes towards the end of the table gave me a warm greeting in her eyes. Without interrupting Hal and Michael, give her a little nod and smile.

Finally deciding Mike gets to live. Thank the stars. He has to face Damien. Thinking of those black shadow needles. Shudders fill me. He might have regretted his choice to save me. I know Damien would do anything to make his sure his sister is safe. Shadow King will hear him out at least before he thinks of killing him. Flashes away. I am going to learn that magic trick.

Talia comes in the room with a flash and a small woman. All these flashes could give your eyes black spots. The small woman is adorable. You want to put her in your pocket and keep her. By the looks of Hal's sister, she is in good hands. Who is she I wonder?

"I am Damien sister!"

Hold the phone. What! That little thing is connected to the second most powerful light magic being here. Its like Loki befriending Snow White. Brain was not able to fully grasp this situation. Netta. The name even sounds innocent. Her image now and Damien at the club, how did she turn out like this with him for a brother. So many questions.

Another flash. They really should take flashing entrances to the hallway and go through the door. Except this one I did not mind at all, "Regina!" I jump out of my seat and run into her waiting arms. Laughing, crying, and some tighter hugs. She was backing me away, "Let's get a better look at you. That Shadow King dummy did not hurt you did he? I could make him into a toad or something." Hugging me again.

Hearing a voice behind us, "Please don't hurt my brother. People just don't understand him. He would never hurt anyone. Truly. Hetta was staring up at us with some steel in her glare. Mighty mouse. Still adorable. Turning to her and putting my left hand on her arm, "No one will hurt Damien. I promise." She let out a breath and went in for her own hug. What a grip on this one.

Talia was giving me the mother hen look, 'Don't hurt her feelings.' Interesting, I remember in coming down the hallway in this very building giving me a look of distain and that everything was beneath her. During the whole meeting about me, she was bored. But now she is very much in attention.

Before I could say anything, the Queen/Regina says, "Dear girl. Where did you get that necklace?" Hetta looked down the necklace around her neck, it was a simple necklace made with white leather and tiny pearl on it. Not really too flashy, but something you would see at an art fair. Almost like someone made it.

"This necklace was around my neck when my brother found me in a cave. I was just born and small, so he tried to take the necklace off to protect me. But no matter what he did it never came off," giving the necklace a tug like she was going to break it. Instead of breaking. it stays on her neck, no matter how hard she tugged. "Most interesting part is. Damien said to me, that someone had to have loved me lots because the necklace stayed with me always. I have been searching for my birth family for a while. Then Anna suggested The Cathedral had birth records and to try there to find more information. Except," pausing and tears came down her face. Talia brings her arms around her and pulls her back against her.

"Its Ok Talia. Thank you," leaving Talia arms around her she looks at all of us. "My brother is very overprotective and would never let me travel here because he said you would all kill him. So, Stanley, our butler helped me get to the library. But a fish dude, told Nora, the head librarian, that I was linked to the Shadow King. Next thing I know, Royal Elite guards were hauling me away, until Talia showed up and rescued me."

Turning around in and giving Talia a hug, then backs away, straightens her spine, "The Elite guard wanted to take me to prison but Talia stepped in and put me under her authority. And now my brother is going to get hurt. Please don't kill him. He is all I have in this world. Kill me instead. I made the mistake not him." Tears dropping down until she had to take her glasses off to wipe away the water droplets.

Queen makes her way to Netta, takes the necklace and tugs. Necklace falls to the ground, and so does Netta. Another flash happens around Netta's body, but this time it was a fire. Like a campfire that someone put too much gasoline on it. Violet flames pulled everyone away to the other side of the room and a bubble around Netta and the fire.

Fire died down and then went out. No one could see with the table in the way. Talia was the first to rush back, Hal and I followed quickly behind her. A naked woman's body laid where Netta was, it had living flames surrounding her skin. Then clothes started to form red, yellow, orange, and black. Cat woman suit. Her long white hair laid against the tiled floor. No burnt scars anywhere on here or around her.

"She is Crimson' daughter. A Royal princess. And your sister," Regina said in a voice of utter disbelief. Harold, former King, ran to pick the girl on the floor in his arms. Pulled the hair out of her face, "When you told us Danintha about Crimson losing our child and you replaced her with Anna. I knew. Some part of me knew when I held Anna that she was not mine. But she had power, so I let my suspicions go."

Lushes' midnight eyes looked up to her father, "You came. I knew you would come." Then she pasted out once more. Hal spoke, "Father, why don't you take her to one of the rooms here." Before he could leave, Talia speaks, "She would feel more comfortable back at my place. Waking up with strangers and a place she does not know might scare her more."

"Fine. Father you can go with Talia." Former King takes his daughter, Netta in his arms, Talia takes her father's arm, and then they are gone. Hal turns to the Queen, "Explain please."

My mother plops down. Mother. Warmth feels me and go to her side, place my hand on her shoulder for support. "I knew plans had to be made to place Anna in fairy realm. But where? Then Crimson said that her child no longer breathed. Placing my hand on her belly, no heartbeat came," shoulder dropping. "Having my own daughter my heart went out to her. I told her about what was needed. She agreed. I would take her dead child and replace it with Anna within her womb. That kind of magic. Took almost more than I could spare."

Nothing more about magic and the cost, it must have been all her light magic. "When I took the child from her mother. I could not let anything happen to her. So, I took the baby girl to the Sacred All Mother's Grove cave. Placed my necklace around her little throat and gave her my blessings. I never. I should have made sure. How is Crimson every going to forgive me?" Sobbing and putting her head on the boardroom table.

"Regina. Mother. You were trying to take care of all the babies; Anna, Hetta, and me. You were going off the assumption the baby was gone. Maybe the Star Goddess had a plan for Hetta too." Perking up with my speech. Taking the line of hope that held in my words. "Maybe daughter. Let's hope. Sounds like Damien treated her well."

Black mist took up with whole building. Violet countered the mist easily. Rainbow joined his. When shadow dust settled there stood Damien with a knife to the Queen's throat.

"Get my sister here or the Queen dies!"
