Fairy Guardian - Hal Ch20
"Is going to be all right Hal. You did the right thing. She was. She was," hearing his mother's voice that held sorrow for Carson and me. I could not look around at her or Draco. If felt like my air left me when she walked out.
"If this is supposed to be the right thing mother, then why does it not feel right. If feels like a limb is missing." Got up and started to pace. Each step leading me somewhere and nowhere at the same time. How am I not going to see Car? I have been trying since she turned up in this realm to stay away. Saying to no one but himself, "Fuck this!"
Flash myself back to her and hell with the consequences, only to find my brother with yellow blood making a line on his throat. Shock went through me. Is she dead? Did I sent her here to die? "Where is she?" yelling to him. Not looking up for the floor, he said 'Gone. He took her."
Could not even help what happened next, I was across the room and the next I was holding Mike's throat with one arm against the wall. Quite the feat since he is quite large for a fairy. Warm yellow blood came on my hand, smell of cinnamon and sweat, "Again Michael. Where is Carson? Who has her?" Before I could squeeze his throat to end his life the Queen and King appeared with Talia and Vian.
Elevator doors opened with my mother and Draco. Queen says, "Why is Hallious choking Michael?" Not looking at anyone, "He let someone take Carson." Scream sounded behind me, "Noooo. My baby." Dropping him down. Wiping the blood on my pants, holding my hands on my hips. "Michael, you better start talking or I will kill you."
Choking and trying to draw in breath, yellow flame came from his hands to his throat. Clearing his throat from his healing touch. Still not looking at anyone, "The Shadow King," before he stated more a blue flame shot off me and made a whole threw the entire building. Seeing the outside trees with my hole I just made. "You let the Shadow King in here? He cannot come to Avalon without a direct invitation, or the treaty is broken and we go to war," brightening at the chance to kill the bastard that has been plaguing this realm since Day One.
"I invited him," my brother states. 0 to 60. Unleashed rage spread threw me. Slow walking to give myself the chance to kill him slowly, the King interceded to hold me back. "Let him speak Hallious, we need to hear what The Shadow King is planning."
How can I think when my woman is out there possibly being hurt or worse. My woman. Feeling her soft skin. Kissing her lips. Hearing her laughter. Idiot. Stupid dumb idiot. Visions of her dream guy description coming back to me, maybe much worse. Sickness felt in my stomach. I served her up right to a monster. If I was strong enough to keep her, she would be safe. Hell, I just had to seal the deal with sex. Smacking my head against the wall.
"Fine. Talk fast." My voice did not broker anymore delays.
"I did what you asked and cleared the building. Found how the hired gun got in and almost killed Carson. Then ran into Anna. We had a fight. She left then I heard Anna went missing," hearing him move off the floor. But choosing for his welfare to not look directly at him. "Go on Michael. Spill it."
"I did not mean for anyone to get hurt. I went to Anna's house and found a note in my room. It said, 'Bring Carson to the King's penthouse or Anna will die. Then gave instructions to send an invite to The Shadow King for entrance," making his way over to me. "If you value your life, do not come anywhere near me right now," my voice did not represent any room for noncompliance.
Footsteps stalled, "Anna was going to die if I did not follow his instructions. It was her life or the life of a stranger, who just turned up less than a week ago. We have known Anna a heck of a lot longer. She might not always be the best of sisters, but she is our sister." Could feel his voice warming up to his arguments, "I have no problem with Carson. I think she is quite beautiful, warm, and loving person. But she has no magic. And Anna saved me. She saved me. Hall."
Heard a face being slapped, turned around to see the Queen looking at Michael, "She was my daughter. My daughter," pointing to her chest. "She had no one. I repeat no one care for her growing up. I could not get there until the damage was done from her family," tears freely coming down. The Queen has never cried. Never. Cries. "But I was there for her. Carson is the most loving person and would go out of her way to help anyone but no one besides me has ever picked her. Choose her," falling down to the ground in a heap.
King kneels down and gathers her in his arms. "Find her daughter by any means necessary. War was coming anyway." Vanishes with her. Was I any better than Michael? I did not fight for her. Do I deserve her? Straining my shoulders.
"The future Queen has been kidnapped and now it is all of our duties to get her back. Anna or no Anna." It sounded heartless but my sister was the cause of; Mike being tossed in the words to die, my magic being taken away, and now for Carson being taken.
Mother steps up to me and looks at me really looks at me, places her hands on either side of my face, "What did she do to you?" Going to my heart, now tears coming down her cheeks. Does every woman just cry. She whispers, "Her love. Her magic fixed you Hal. Now I sent her away." Head down and moving away from me with the weight of the world. Wrapping my arms around her and holding her close, maybe for both of us, "What do you mean she fixed me?"
Looking up with water still in her eyes, "When your magic was taken because of you saving your brother, it broke you. I could feel nothing within you. Then your magic was returned but it was like stocked blocks that did not line up correctly. Held together but not quite on top of each other." Feeling a tighter hug, "With her beautiful rainbow magic, all the blocks must have locked in place again. Because I feel your wholeness. Your healed Hal."
Pushing away from me, wiping up her tears, and determination comes into her frame, "We need that girl back Hal. She is the only one for you. Your True Love Match. I acted too quickly. Did not trust the stars and tried to control the situation. But never again. Stars know more than me. Let's get our Carson back."
Smiling back at her and filling purpose fill my heart, saying to room at large, "Who knows where the Shadow King lives?" Michael perks up like a thought just occurred to him.
"Wait. I forgot to tell you. Carson knew him. Called him Damien."
